NeuesWohnen at BOAT & FUN BERLIN: Houseboats, tiny houses, mobile homes

Whether travelling by motorhome, houseboat or minimalist living in a tiny house - BOAT & FUN BERLIN will be presenting alternative forms of living and flexible travel on and around the water from 28 November to 1 December 2024 as part of the NeuesWohnen theme world. Trade and private visitors can expect a wide range of exhibits and an informative supporting programme on the latest living trends.

BOAT & FUN BERLIN, one of the leading trade fairs for water sports, outdoor and leisure, is focussing on the growing trend towards alternative forms of living with its New Living section. At the centre of this area is life on and by the water - from elegant sloops to self-sufficient house and caravan boats for long-term stays on rivers and lakes. This year, the range will be expanded to include tiny houses and mobile homes, which open up a wide variety of possible uses - whether as a second home in the countryside or as an innovative office.

From houseboats to tiny houses - a growing market

By expanding this area, BOAT & FUN BERLIN is responding to the growing interest in alternative forms of living, which has risen steadily in recent years, especially since the pandemic. Berlin, Brandenburg and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Europe's largest contiguous inland and water sports region with more than 5,000 lakes and over 60,000 kilometres of waterways, offer ideal conditions for living and travelling on the water.

Highlights and premieres at NeueWohnWelten

Hall 3.2b at BOAT & FUN BERLIN will be the centre of attraction for all those who dream of living on the water or in a tiny house. Numerous exhibitors will be presenting their exhibits - including Tom Sawyer, who will be bringing two houseboat rafts to the trade fair, including a model that focusses on sustainability with a modern electric drive. Spreewärts Hausboote will be providing information about its unusual design ideas that enable living on several levels. Nautilus will be presenting both houseboats and tiny houses in cooperation with Mobilheim Kolbe. New on board are Mobilheim West, Kunert-Mobiles Wohnen and the Tiny Houses from Dwellii and NAWALO.

Another highlight: Desidus is celebrating a world premiere with an 18 metre long houseboat. The ceremonial unveiling of the Living LuxBoot will take place as part of the Gala Night of Boats, the official opening event of BOAT & FUN BERLIN. The photo opportunity is scheduled for 6:30 pm. More information can be found on the website under Press Dates.

Accompanying programme and outlook

In addition to the exhibitors, visitors to the trade fair can look forward to an exciting supporting programme. The programme at the Sailing and Lifestyle Forum in Hall 25 includes presentations on the topic of tiny living: the co-founders of tinyon Chris Klerner and Caro Werner will share their everyday experiences and give tips for their own journey to a tiny house. Simon Kilimann, CEO of NAWALO GmbH, and Fabian Müller, CEO of Vilcomo, will explain how the tiny house can be used profitably for short-term rentals. Natalie and Roxana Sochan, co-founders of Tiny University, will complete the programme and explain how much return on investment is possible with a Tiny House.

In the future, the NeuesWohnen area will be expanded and supplemented with its own forum to support the growing demand for information and dialogue. More information about the entire stage programme can be found on the website.

Practical tips: Advice on finding a property

BOAT & FUN's cooperation with Vilcomo and the die-flächenbörse.de platform offers additional added value for anyone interested in finding a suitable plot of land for their tiny house or houseboat. With expert advice from these platforms, interested visitors to BOAT & FUN Berlin will find the ideal location for their new home - or can make their plot available via one of the platforms.
